ON-SITE MAKEUP POLICIES
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Agreement: All clients receiving makeup services agree to the terms outlined for services on the specified date, time, and location. Accuracy is crucial for effective service delivery, and all parties are committed to the terms.
Contract Details: Changes to the timeline, services, or location must be discussed between the booking client and Shanney.
Planner: If a planner represents the clients, Shanney must be informed, and all communication will be via email. The primary client remains responsible for communicating with Shanney the week of the event to provide the room number, confirm the timeline and details. Shanney will notify the primary client when she is on the way and arriving.
Independent Contractor: Shanney Thich is an independent contractor, not an agent or employee of the clients, the booking client, or any other vendor. All clients are interested only in the results, with Shanney maintaining control over her work.
Payment: Fees are due as per the payment provision. The remaining balance is due on the event day in cash before Shanney's departure.
Contraindications: Clients must inform Shanney of any contraindications prior to booking (e.g., recent microblading, piercings, herpes, open sores, allergies/sensitivities to products). Shanney is not liable for allergic reactions.
Product Use: No one may touch or use Shanney's products without permission. Damages caused by any client will be reimbursed at retail value.
Service Limits: Only the specified number of clients listed in the contract are permitted to receive services or touch-ups. Additional services are at Shanney's discretion.
Touch-Ups and Adjustments: Any touch-ups or adjustments will be made at the end of the last scheduled service. Concerns must be communicated before Shanney leaves. Touch-ups are at Shanney's discretion and will not involve substantial alterations. If substantial alterations are required, additional charges may apply. Shanney will not return for touch-ups once she has packed and left.
Advertising: All clients agree that any photos or videos taken of their makeup may be used for promotional purposes, including on Shanney Thich’s website, social media, and other marketing materials. Clients will be asked for permission before photos or videos are taken and can choose to opt out at any time.
Force Majeure: Shanney’s obligations are subject to her availability and may be impacted by extreme sickness, accidents, natural disasters, pandemics, or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond her control.
Right to Refuse Service: Shanney reserves the right to refuse service or terminate the contract for breach of contract, non-compliance, discrimination, harassment, dishonesty, theft, violence, or inappropriate behavior.
Service Satisfaction: Shanney strives to meet all clients’ expectations, but individual preferences may vary. Once Shanney leaves, services are considered complete. Full payment is required regardless of satisfaction with the makeup. No refunds will be issued if any client is dissatisfied after services are completed. By signing, all clients acknowledge that dissatisfaction does not entitle them to a refund, and payment is final.
LATE POLICY
Clients are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time. If a client arrives late and Shanney is able to accommodate the delay, the full range of services will be provided. However, if the delay requires overtime, an additional charge of $25 per 15-minute increment will apply, subject to Shanney's availability. If the appointment cannot be extended due to the lateness or other circumstances, full payment is still required.
DEPOSIT/ RESCHEDULING/ CANCELLATION POLICY
Deposit: A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required to secure the booking, payable via Zelle. The deposit secures your event date and covers time reserved, time spent communicating, administrative work, and operational costs. By paying the deposit, Shanney blocks off the specified date and time frame, declines other inquiries for that date, and prioritizes your event. As these expenses are incurred immediately upon booking, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of whether the event takes place.
Remaining Balance: The remaining balance is due in cash only upon completion of services on the day of the event.
Services Removal & Replacements: Any services removed before or on the event day will still require full payment. Replacements for canceled bridal party members are allowed, but this does not apply to bridal services.
Client-Initiated Cancellation: Cancellation notice must be provided at least 14 days before the event. The deposit is non-refundable. Failure to provide notice at least 14 days before the event will require full payment of all services.
Shanney-Initiated Cancellation: If Shanney must cancel, the deposit will be refunded, and reasonable efforts will be made to find a replacement, though not guaranteed. In the event that Shanney is unable to provide services, the client agrees that their sole remedy is the refund of the deposit.
Force Majeure & Unforeseen Events: Shanney is not liable for and will not refund or transfer deposits due to circumstances beyond her control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, traffic, road closures, or other unforeseen events on the bride’s end. The deposit remains non-refundable, as it is beyond Shanney's control.
If both parties are impacted (e.g., by a natural disaster or pandemic), Shanney may offer one rescheduling with deposit transfer, but the deposit is non-refundable.
If the issue is solely on Shanney’s end (e.g., illness or accidents), the deposit will be refunded.
APPOINTMENT REMINDERS
Appointment Timing: Ensure everyone is ready 15-30 minutes before their scheduled time. Send me the timeline with names at least one week before the event date. Late arrivals/missing appointments will not be serviced, and full payment is still required.
Coordination: Schedule separate hair appointments from makeup appointments. Coordinate with your hairstylist regarding my timeline.
Setup Requirements: Provide a designated setup area near a window and a table.
Quiet Workspace: For best results, I ask that clients receiving makeup are in a quiet, designated space without interruptions. Please refrain from phone use, moving around, or interacting with others during the appointment to help me stay on schedule and ensure a calm environment.
Preparation: Arrive with a clean face, no SPF sunscreen, and a makeup look in mind. Exfoliate your skin the day before. You may apply your usual skincare to stay hydrated. Bridesmaids should have a cohesive look distinct from the bride's style (e.g., neutral, soft glam, matte eyes).
Inspiration Photos: Choose photos of people with similar features to yours. Feel free to browse my portfolio to see my style of makeup. Please avoid using Pinterest/overly edited photos for inspiration photos.
Clothing and Accessories: Wear a robe or button-up shirt to avoid makeup transfer. Remove all jewelry.
Payment: The remaining balance and any parking fees are due in cash before I leave. Gratuity is welcome and much appreciated. For group payments, collect and place the money in an envelope.
Touch-Up Products: Each person should bring their own touch-up products (e.g., pressed powder, lash glue, lipstick, gloss). Ask for product recommendations if needed.
Communication: Text Shanney the day before and the day of the appointment for room number or last-minute contact.
